If you had permission & funds to do the most unhinged, joyful thing with your yard or garden, what would you do??? 😍

For my fellow Chaos Gardeners... 😌😌

Might I suggest some Wild Poinsettia, a prolific self-seeding, pollen powerhouse that even in the hot dry arse end of summer that we're experiencing now is still showing up day after day for pollinators I rarely even see elsewhere???

Just know that if you plant it, you'll never be rid of it, but honestly I don't mind that one bit 😌😌😌

Reason #392 why I'm a weirdass gardener: I LOVE LEAF DAMAGE!!!! πŸ€£πŸŒ±πŸ½οΈπŸ›

I mean, not like aesthetically, but because I know what it SIGNALS - caterpillars!

In this case, my Coral Honeysuckle is getting ate up because it's been found by a Snowberry Clearwing hummingbird moth (for which it is one of the FEW plants they can actually eat).

If you want to have Snowberry Clearwings, the coolest little flying lobster you've ever seen, you have to grow one of its larval host plants! (The babies CANNOT eat ANY old leaf.) ❌

And my Coral Honeysuckle is robust, with tons of leafy tendrils after only 2 years in the ground, so it can afford to lose a few leaves in service to the ecosystem! 🫑

I mean, just look at that weird little face!! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!

I don't currently have any Coral Honeysuckle available BUT I did manage to collect seeds for the first time!! So hopefully I will have honeysuckle come spring! And then you can have your own lil flying lobsters

A new one for me! Seminole Crescent 😍
