The permit on the dash is only one of the approvals on a heavy haul.
An oversize or overweight permit can come with conditions that live outside the state permit office: a railroad's approval to cross its tracks, a utility owner's clearance to travel under or near power lines, city and county road-use approvals, and a route, mass, speed and travel window that can change from one day to the next.
Each one runs on its own timeline. A rail crossing approval doesn't happen because your permit was issued, and power lines don't get moved on your schedule. When one of them slips, the load sits and the travel window that took weeks to line up starts burning.
That's the part customers don't see on a quote. It's also where a haul gets lost.
At Ox Heavy Haul, we work the crossings, clearances and travel windows before dispatch, not after the truck is loaded. Oversized, overweight, over-height and over-length permit loads are what we do. Fully insured, hauling since 2020.
