MicroLife Organic/Biological Fertilization Program – 10 Applications Annually

Premium Lawn, Landscape & Soil Health Program

Texas Landscape & Design uses a professional MicroLife organic/biological program designed to improve the health of your lawn, landscape plants, root systems and soil biology throughout the year.

January – MicroLife Liquid Humates Plus
Helps improve soil structure, nutrient availability and biological activity while supporting stronger, healthier root systems.

March–November – 9 Monthly Applications
We apply a combination of MicroLife Bio-Matrix + MicroGro AF to lawns and landscape beds.

More Than Just Fertilizer

This biological program provides:

🌱 Organic/biological plant nutrition

🦠 Beneficial bacteria and microorganisms

🍄 Beneficial fungi and mycorrhizal biology

🌳 Support for stronger, more extensive root systems

💧 Improved nutrient and moisture utilization

🌿 Improved soil health and biological diversity

🌼 One program for lawns, shrubs, flowers and landscape beds

🛡️ Helps create a healthier soil environment that can improve plants' natural resilience to insects and disease pressures

MicroLife's biological approach is especially interesting because beneficial soil organisms and fungi help create a more active soil ecosystem. Based on MicroLife's field experience and testing, this approach may help plants better withstand pressures such as whiteflies and brown patch, while increased biological activity in the soil may also provide alternative organic food sources for grub activity instead of relying as heavily on plant roots.

The Goal: Healthy Soil = Healthy Plants

Instead of simply feeding the lawn with conventional fertilizer, we're working to feed the soil, support beneficial biology and feed the plants at the same time.

🌿🏡 BRINGING A 15-YEAR-OLD LANDSCAPE BACK TO LIFE! 🏡🌿

This project is a great example of how an established landscape doesn’t always need to be completely torn out and started over.

The original landscape was approximately 15 years old and had become tired, overgrown and ready for an update. Our team at Texas Landscape & Design came in to evaluate what was already there, determine what could stay, and develop a new plan to give the property a cleaner, updated and much more LOW-MAINTENANCE look. 🌿✨

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🌱 UPDATING AN ESTABLISHED LANDSCAPE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

When renovating an older landscape, we look beyond how everything appears today. We consider:

✔️ Mature tree canopy & changing sunlight
✔️ Plant sizes at maturity
✔️ Overgrown or outdated plant material
✔️ Drainage patterns
✔️ Sprinkler coverage
✔️ Bed shapes & borders
✔️ Long-term maintenance
✔️ Privacy & screening
✔️ How the entire property flows together

For this renovation, we selected a combination of plants that provide color, texture, structure and easier long-term maintenance.

🌿 Kaleidoscope Abelia — Beautiful variegated foliage with changing shades of green, yellow and seasonal color. A great low-maintenance choice for adding contrast.

🌸 Conversation Piece Azaleas — Added for beautiful seasonal blooms and color in areas with the proper light conditions.

🌿 Variegated Liriope — Used throughout the landscape for texture, contrast and clean definition around the beds.

🌺 Fashion Azaleas — A dependable choice for adding additional color while maintaining a traditional Southern landscape feel.

🌺 Formosa Azaleas — Strategically placed along the existing chain-link fence. Their larger mature size will eventually provide additional HEIGHT, SCREENING & PRIVACY while helping soften the appearance of the fence.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
💧 THE DETAILS BELOW THE LANDSCAPE MATTER TOO
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Simply replacing plants wouldn't have completed this renovation.

💦 Sprinklers were updated and adjusted to improve coverage and better support the new plant material.

🌧️ Drainage flow was addressed to help move water properly through the property and protect the landscape.

🚶 Existing crushed granite pathways were redone, restoring their appearance and creating clean, natural movement through the property.

🛠️ Landscape edging was reset to bring back the original curves and give the beds, lawn and pathways a much cleaner finished appearance.

🪨 Existing natural stone elements were incorporated into the refreshed design to help maintain the character of this established property.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⭐ FROM RENOVATION TO PREMIUM WEEKLY MAINTENANCE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

One of the biggest advantages for this property going forward is that our team is now providing PREMIUM WEEKLY LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE. 🌿✂️

Instead of allowing the landscape to slowly become tired and overgrown again, we can continually manage it as the new plants mature.

✔️ Weekly mowing & edging
✔️ Detailed bed maintenance
✔️ W**d removal & control
✔️ Proper shrub trimming
✔️ Plant health monitoring
✔️ Irrigation checks
✔️ Fertilization
✔️ Seasonal landscape care
✔️ Pathway & border cleanup
✔️ Monitoring drainage performance
✔️ Managing plants according to their mature size

🌳 A good landscape renovation isn't always about starting over.

Sometimes it’s about taking an older landscape with good bones and giving it the right plants, better irrigation, improved drainage and professional maintenance to make it beautiful again.

🌿 OLD LANDSCAPE ➜ UPDATED DESIGN ➜ LOWER MAINTENANCE ➜ PROFESSIONAL WEEKLY CARE

☀️ AUGUST HEAT IS HERE — PROTECT YOUR LANDSCAPE BEFORE THE DAMAGE SHOWS

August is reminding us just how tough a Montgomery County summer can be.

Here in Montgomery, Woodforest, Bonterra, The Woodlands and surrounding communities, we are entering another stretch of very hot weather with limited widespread rainfall expected. Temperatures around our area are forecast to remain in the upper 90s, with some locations potentially reaching 100°F or higher as a strong heat dome builds over Southeast Texas.

You may have heard that yesterday's heat was the hottest here since the 1800s. We checked the historical weather data before sharing that claim. While official Houston-area temperature records do date back to 1889, we could not verify that Montgomery set an all-time record yesterday. What we CAN say is that the current heat and drying pattern is serious enough that homeowners need to pay close attention to their lawns, landscapes and irrigation systems.

🌡️ THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO CUT BACK TOO FAR ON WATER

During prolonged periods of high temperatures, your lawn and landscape can lose moisture much faster than many homeowners realize. St. Augustine grass, azaleas, shrubs and newly installed plants can become stressed quickly when the soil is allowed to repeatedly dry out.

In weather like this, deep, thorough watering is generally much better than frequent light watering.

The goal is not simply to wet the top inch of soil. We want moisture getting down into the root zone where the plant can actually use it. Watering deeply and appropriately encourages a healthier root system and gives established landscapes a much better chance of handling our Texas summer heat.

💧 DON'T ASSUME YOUR SPRINKLER SYSTEM IS WATERING EVERYTHING CORRECTLY

We regularly find irrigation systems with:

• Heads that are no longer providing proper coverage
• Clogged or damaged nozzles
• Areas blocked by mature plants
• Zones running too short
• Poor head-to-head coverage
• Beds being watered the same way as turf
• Older systems that haven't been adjusted as landscapes have matured

A system can run every morning and still leave portions of the landscape too dry.

At Texas Landscape & Design, we can evaluate your existing irrigation and recommend upgrades or adjustments to get water where it is actually needed.

🌱 MOISTURE MANAGER CAN HELP

We also offer Moisture Manager applications as another tool to help landscapes get through our hottest and driest periods.

Moisture-management products are designed to help improve how water is utilized in the soil and root zone. They don't eliminate the need for irrigation, but when properly incorporated into a watering program, they can help make the water you're already applying work more effectively.

For homeowners trying to protect a large lawn or established landscape through August, this can be a valuable addition to a good irrigation program.

🌿 THE LONG-TERM ANSWER: DESIGN FOR TEXAS

One of the biggest things we emphasize at Texas Landscape & Design is choosing the right plant for the right location.

Instead of constantly fighting to keep high-water, high-maintenance plants alive, we can gradually transition landscapes toward plants better suited for our Montgomery County climate.

That doesn't mean your landscape has to look plain.

Our designs use combinations of hardy shrubs, ornamental grasses, flowering plants, rock, mulch, improved soils and efficient irrigation to create landscapes that can still provide color, texture and curb appeal without requiring excessive amounts of water and maintenance.

This is especially important in communities such as Woodforest and Bonterra, where landscapes are maturing and some of the original plant material may no longer be the best choice for its location.

The same applies throughout The Woodlands villages, including Alden Bridge, Cochran's Crossing, Indian Springs, Sterling Ridge, Creekside Park, Panther Creek and surrounding neighborhoods.

☀️ AUGUST IS WHEN GOOD LANDSCAPE PLANNING REALLY SHOWS

Anybody can have a green landscape when temperatures are mild and we're receiving regular rainfall.

The real test comes during weeks like these.

Proper soil preparation, deep watering, good irrigation coverage, mulch, moisture management and selecting plants adapted to our climate can make a tremendous difference.

If you're seeing dry spots in your St. Augustine, wilting plants, declining shrubs or an irrigation system that simply can't keep up, don't wait until everything turns brown.

Texas Landscape & Design can help with:

✓ Irrigation evaluations and upgrades
✓ Sprinkler adjustments and improved coverage
✓ Moisture Manager applications
✓ Low-maintenance landscape renovations
✓ Replacement of struggling or high-water-use plants
✓ Soil improvements and mulching
✓ Water-conscious landscape design

Our goal isn't just to make a landscape look good the day we finish it.

We want to build landscapes designed to handle Montgomery County and the Texas climate for years to come.

Imagine Pulling Into This Every Day...

One of my favorite parts of landscape design is helping homeowners see what's possible before the first shovel ever goes into the ground. A thoughtful design allows us to create a landscape that's not only beautiful on day one, but one that continues to mature and look even better over the years.

For this concept, the goal was a clean, elegant, low-maintenance landscape that complements the home instead of overwhelming it. We focused on evergreen structure, seasonal color, improved drainage, and defined landscape beds that are easier to maintain while adding long-term value to the property.

Our typical low-maintenance designs include quality garden mix to build healthier planting beds, commercial-grade w**d barrier where appropriate, premium hardwood mulch to retain moisture, durable powder-coated steel edging, and carefully selected plants that have consistently performed well in Southeast Texas. Refreshing dry creek beds with decorative bull rock also improves drainage while creating a natural focal point.

The right landscape isn't just about curb appeal—it's an investment in your home. A professionally designed landscape can make weekly maintenance easier, improve drainage, reduce w**d pressure, and create an outdoor space your family enjoys for years.

If you're considering updating your landscaping in The Woodlands, Woodforest, Bonterra, Montgomery, Conroe, Bentwater, or the surrounding communities, I'd be happy to help create a custom design that fits your home, your lifestyle, and your budget.

At Texas Landscape & Design, we believe in creating Low-Maintenance Landscapes Designed to Last.

🌱 Healthy Lawns Start from the Ground Up with COMMAND® Microbial Compost

At Texas Landscape & Design, we're always searching for products that provide long-term value—not just a temporary green-up. A healthy, beautiful lawn begins beneath the surface, and that's why we're excited to offer COMMAND® Professional-Grade Microbial Compost as part of our premium lawn renovation and lawn care services.

If you've noticed thinning grass, bare spots, compacted soil, or a lawn that struggles during the Texas summer, improving your soil biology may be one of the best investments you can make.

💲Starting at Just $65 per 100 Square Feet (Before Tax)*

COMMAND® is a premium microbial compost designed to improve soil health by increasing organic matter and introducing beneficial microorganisms that support stronger turf growth. Healthy soil helps create stronger roots, improves water movement through the soil, and gives your lawn a better environment to thrive naturally.

Unlike products that only improve appearance for a short period, COMMAND® works below the surface where your lawn needs it most.

Why Healthy Soil Matters

Many lawns throughout The Woodlands, Montgomery, Magnolia, Conroe, Woodforest, Bonterra, Bentwater, and surrounding communities are built on heavy clay soils. While clay soils can hold nutrients, they also become compacted over time, making it difficult for water, oxygen, and nutrients to reach the root system.

A compacted lawn often shows symptoms such as:

Thin turf

Bare spots

Poor drainage

Standing water

Weak root systems

Increased drought stress

Slower recovery from heat

Uneven lawn color

Improving the biological health of your soil can help create a stronger foundation for your lawn.

Benefits of COMMAND® Microbial Compost

✔ Improves soil structure and porosity

✔ Encourages deeper, healthier root development

✔ Helps increase water retention while improving drainage

✔ Supports beneficial soil microbes

✔ Improves nutrient availability

✔ Promotes thicker, greener turf

✔ Helps lawns better tolerate drought and summer heat

✔ 100% natural

✔ Chemical free

✔ W**d free

✔ Safe for families and pets after application

Ideal Applications

COMMAND® is an excellent choice for:

St. Augustine lawns

New sod installations

Lawn renovations

Bare spot repair

High-traffic areas

Compacted lawns

Seasonal lawn improvement

Premium lawn maintenance programs

Whether your goal is a greener lawn, healthier roots, or improved soil biology, COMMAND® provides an excellent foundation for long-term success.

Pair It With Our Premium Lawn Care Program

For the best results, we recommend combining COMMAND® with proper mowing practices, irrigation management, seasonal fertilization, w**d control, disease monitoring, and routine inspections.

Our goal isn't simply to create a greener lawn this month—it's to build a healthier lawn that continues to improve year after year.

Why Choose Texas Landscape & Design?

With over 20 years of landscaping experience, we specialize in creating low-maintenance landscapes designed specifically for Southeast Texas. We focus on improving both the appearance and long-term health of your property through proven products, professional installation, and honest recommendations.

One of the things I enjoy most about landscaping is helping homeowners protect and enjoy their investment for years to come.

A beautiful landscape does so much more than improve curb appeal. When it's cared for consistently, it helps keep plants healthy, irrigation running efficiently, and your property looking its best throughout every season. It's one of the first things family, friends, and future buyers notice, and it creates a welcoming feeling every time you pull into your driveway.

That's exactly why we offer our Premium Maintenance Program at Texas Landscape & Design.

Our approach is simple—we take care of the details so you can enjoy your outdoor space without the stress of wondering what needs attention next.

For our homeowners in Woodforest and Bonterra, every property is different. We customize our maintenance plans based on your landscape, the plants you have, and what works best in our Texas climate.

Our Premium Maintenance Program includes:
🌿 Weekly mowing, edging, and cleanup
🌿 Professional shrub and ornamental pruning
🌿 Landscape bed maintenance and w**d control
🌿 Irrigation inspections and adjustments
🌿 Lawn and landscape fertilization programs
🌿 Seasonal cleanups
🌿 Ongoing attention to the overall health of your landscape

I also believe in recommending plants that have consistently performed well in our area. Favorites like Fashion Azaleas, Rose Creek Abelias, Drift Roses, and Variegated Liriope provide beautiful color while fitting the low-maintenance landscapes we love creating for our customers.

My goal has always been to build landscapes that not only look beautiful today but continue looking great for years with the right care. Consistent maintenance helps protect your investment, supports healthy plant growth, and keeps your home looking its absolute best throughout the year.

Thank you to all of the homeowners who trust Texas Landscape & Design. We truly appreciate the opportunity to care for your properties and take great pride in every landscape we maintain.

If you're looking for premium landscape maintenance in Woodforest, Bonterra, Montgomery, or The Woodlands, I'd love the opportunity to meet with you and show you what makes our maintenance program different.

Low-Maintenance Landscaping in Woodforest & Bonterra, Montgomery, TX

If you're looking for a landscape that's beautiful year-round without spending every weekend pulling w**ds, trimming overgrown shrubs, or replacing plants, low-maintenance landscaping is the perfect solution. At Texas Landscape & Design, we specialize in creating outdoor spaces that are built specifically for the climate and soil conditions of Woodforest, Bonterra, and Montgomery, Texas.

The natural stone patio featured here is a great example of how a landscape can be both elegant and practical. By combining premium natural stone, decorative river rock, drought-tolerant ornamental grasses, and carefully selected flowering plants, we create outdoor living spaces that stay attractive with minimal upkeep.

Why Homeowners in Woodforest & Bonterra Choose Low-Maintenance Landscapes

The Montgomery area experiences intense summer heat, heavy rains, and occasional drought conditions. Many traditional landscapes require constant watering, trimming, fertilizing, and replacement. Our designs focus on plants and materials that thrive in Southeast Texas while reducing long-term maintenance costs.

Benefits include:

Less watering and lower water bills

Fewer w**ds with quality bed preparation and mulch

Plants selected for Texas heat and humidity

Improved drainage using decorative river rock and grading

Year-round curb appeal

Increased property value

More time enjoying your yard instead of maintaining it

Built for the Texas Climate

Every landscape we install is designed with longevity in mind. We use premium organic garden mix, hardwood mulch, natural stone, and durable landscape materials that hold up to Montgomery County's changing weather conditions.

Popular low-maintenance plants we recommend include:

Sunshine Ligustrum

Rose Creek Abelia

White Azaleas

Variegated Liriope

Society Garlic

Dwarf Yaupon Holly

Japanese Yews

Drift Roses

Native ornamental grasses

These plants provide beautiful color and texture while requiring much less maintenance than traditional landscapes.

Custom Outdoor Living Spaces

Whether you're adding a natural stone patio, decorative boulder accents, retaining walls, dry creek beds, or completely renovating your landscape, our goal is always the same: create a landscape that's beautiful, functional, and easy to enjoy for years to come.

We proudly serve:

Woodforest

Bonterra

Montgomery

The Woodlands

🌿 Low-Maintenance Landscaping That Thrives in The Woodlands, TX 🌿

If you're looking for a beautiful landscape that requires less maintenance while standing up to our Texas climate, this recent project is a great example of how proper design makes all the difference.

We designed these landscape beds using organic garden mix to improve drainage, build healthy soil, and encourage deep root growth. The beds were then finished with 3-month aged premium brown mulch, which helps retain moisture, reduce w**ds, regulate soil temperature, and naturally enrich the soil as it breaks down.

One of our favorite plant combinations for The Woodlands is Fashion Azaleas with Variegated Liriope. Fashion Azaleas thrive beneath our beautiful pine trees because the fallen pine needles naturally create a slightly acidic soil that azaleas love. Combined with the filtered sunlight and partial shade found throughout neighborhoods like The Woodlands, they reward homeowners with vibrant spring blooms year after year while remaining easy to maintain.

For added function and curb appeal, we recommend installing bull rock borders around foundations and bed edges. Bull rock offers several important benefits:

✅ Helps reduce soil erosion during heavy Texas rains.
✅ Provides excellent drainage around the foundation.
✅ Creates a clean, finished appearance.
✅ Can discourage termites by reducing constant wood-to-mulch contact directly against the foundation and creating a drier environment near the home. (While not a replacement for termite prevention, it can be part of a smart landscape design.)

To define elevation changes and create timeless curb appeal, Pavestone® gray retaining walls are an outstanding choice. They are available in a wide variety of colors, textures, and styles, allowing us to match virtually any home's architecture while providing lasting durability and low maintenance.

At Texas Landscape & Design, we specialize in designing landscapes that are beautiful, practical, and built specifically for Southeast Texas.

📍 Serving The Woodlands, Creekside Park, Alden Bridge, Cochran's Crossing, College Park, Grogan's Mill, Indian Springs, Panther Creek, Sterling Ridge, Harper's Landing, East Shore, Carlton Woods, Woodforest, Montgomery, Magnolia, Willis, and Conroe.
