Join us in congratulating Montgomery Fire/Rescue Chief of Staff Joseph J. Addie for an incredible 4️⃣0️⃣ years of dedicated service to Montgomery Fire/Rescue! 🎉 🏆 Chief Addie is the 2nd Firefighter to achieve 40 years in the department.

During his years of service, he served as Second-in-Command in the following positions: Deputy Fire Chief from May 4, 2007, to October 1, 2012, and Chief of Staff from August 23, 2019, to present. We thank Chief Addie for his commitment to excellence and dedication to our community.

Our Sanitation Department has a remarkable track record of exceptional customer service. However, recent challenges such as storms, inclement weather, increased debris, shortened work weeks and truck issues have disrupted curbside trash (yard debris) pickup. We understand the inconvenience and frustration this has caused.

Rest assured, we are committed to implementing a plan to restore reliable service. Despite the significant volume of curbside debris, we continue to provide twice-weekly household garbage collection using green containers. Curbside trash is designated for Wednesdays only. Even with our Sanitation and Landfill employees working tirelessly seven days a week in many cases (including Sundays), given the scale of the task, it may take several weeks for full ex*****on.

We kindly request our customers' patience. If your area has not been serviced yet, then you can be certain that our team is diligently working to reach you as soon as possible.
