The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in the College Of Business Administration at Alabama State University provides comprehensive technical and management assistance to existing and pre-venture start-up businesses in eight counties, Autauga, Bullock, Chamber, Coosa, Elmore, Lowndes, Montgomery, and Tallapoosa in the central Alabama region. The SBDC is committed to providing quality service

, technology transfer, training and other services to enhance business development and economic growth, while providing added value for our stakeholders. Through our international trade entity, we foster support for clients interested in import/export trade. The SBDC strives to foster student entrepreneurial skills through business instruction, development of business plans and internships. The SBDC further engage and maintain positive business partnerships with community organizations, local, state and federal agencies

The Alabama SBDC at Alabama State University, in collaboration with Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Information, The CITI Center, the Black Belt Community Foundation, and the SBA Alabama District Office, was proud to host our “Funding Your Future: SBA Loan Insights & Lender Networking Session” in Selma, Alabama in celebration of SBA National Small U.S. Small Business Administration National Small Business Week.

A special thank you to Roderick D. Perkins, Lead Lenders Specialist, SBA Alabama District Office for providing valuable insights on SBA loan programs, lender readiness, and strategies to help entrepreneurs strengthen their borrowing power and prepare for business financing opportunities.
