Thank you to Health Facility Institute for welcoming our design experts, Shavon Charlot, Shaun Bott, and Simon Hurst, to share our experience delivering healthcare infrastructure in Pacific environments.

Our session focused on the unique challenges of designing and delivering healthcare facilities in the Pacific, where limited infrastructure, environmental vulnerability, and complex logistics require a different way of thinking. From material shortages to constrained technical support, these conditions push our planners, architects, and engineers to develop resilient, high-performing design strategies that continue to inform our current and future projects.

SS&A would like to congratulate Michael LaPointe on passing the Professional Engineer (PE) exam, a significant achievement that reflects his dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence. He shared, “Passing this exam to become licensed is a gratifying benchmark along a path of continual improvement,” and looks forward to continuing his growth in the healthcare design industry.

Over the past year, Michael has contributed to impactful projects including Chuuk Hospital in the Pacific Islands, Ambulatory Care Centers at Camp Pendleton, and the aircraft rinsing system at Eglin Air Force Base. SS&A is proud to highlight Justin Davis, AIA, Associate Director for AIA Montgomery, who traveled to Washington, DC from February 11–14 to participate in the AIA Leadership Summit 2026.

Justin joined more than 700 architects from across the country on Capitol Hill to meet with congressional representatives, discuss current issues impacting the profession, and advocate for policies that support architects, students, and the future of architectural design.

He shared that his favorite part of the experience was the opportunity to contribute to the betterment of the profession and to help strengthen the pipeline for the next generation of architects.

We were incredibly grateful to participate in the 2026 TSACS D+CM Expo hosted by TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY’s Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science on February 10th! This meaningful event brings together industry professionals, students, and alumni to advance careers in architecture, construction, and design through a career fair and seminars.

A special shout-out to our own Jennifer Matthews, SS&A Medical Planner and TSACS alumna, who was featured on this year’s alumni panel. She shared her career journey with students — from her time as a national nonprofit organization leader to her work as a healthcare architectural designer and now as a medical planner.

Thank you to TSACS for hosting such an impactful event. We’re proud to support the next generation of design leaders and look forward to continued engagement with this amazing program!
