A Major Milestone for MCRD San Diego! 🏗️🎉

It’s exciting to see the MCRD San Diego Ambulatory Care Center reach this important topping-out milestone! SS&A is proud to have served as Designer of Record for this significant healthcare project as part of our Joint Venture team. Our multidisciplinary team provided design services across architecture, engineering, medical planning, interiors, and other specialized disciplines to develop the complete design-bid-build package for this new 100,526 GSF facility.

The new Ambulatory Care Center will consolidate a wide range of medical and dental services into a modern healthcare facility designed to support the health and readiness of Marine Corps recruits and active-duty personnel. We’re proud to see the vision taking shape and grateful to everyone who has contributed to bringing this important project one step closer to completion.

SS&A is proud to announce not one, but TWO new contract awards with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District!

Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) for Architect-Engineer (A-E) Services to Support Planning, Design and Construction — Military Design and Construction Program

This multi-award contract provides A-E services across a broad range of military design and construction disciplines, including engineering studies, planning, new construction, renovations, design-build support, and facility condition assessments within the Mobile District’s Area of Responsibility. The work supports a diverse group of stakeholders including the Army, Air Force, Navy, Special Operations Command, Defense Health Programs, and other DoD programs and agencies.

SS&A secured an award as a Small Business, and the SS&A/Clark Nexsen Joint Venture secured an award on the unrestricted side — with both teams sharing in the $499M contract capacity over a five-year ordering period. Together, these awards reflect the strength, versatility, and depth of expertise our team brings to the federal design market.

Now complete: the FEMA Center for Domestic Preparedness Advanced Responder Training Complex.

Located in Anniston, AL, this renovated facility supports FEMA’s national training mission—preparing thousands of emergency responders each year to handle complex, real-world hazards.

SS&A’s design transformed an aging facility into a modern, fully upgraded training environment featuring new building systems, enhanced infrastructure, and flexible instructional spaces tailored to today’s training needs. Proud to contribute to a project that directly supports those who serve on the front lines.
