I went on an inspection right after another electrical company had completed a surge protection install.

The surge protector is mounted in the wall below panel.

Can you spot the problem we have here?

1. There wasn’t enough resistance to ground, only one ground rod installed.
2. They pigtailed the surge protector to the dryer circuit with the taps very loose(so loose that when I removed the wire nuts the wires fell apart) this would cause the taps/joint to heat up causing a fire.
3. Surge protection should always be closest to the load side of the main breaker when installing in this location.

Be careful who you choose to protect your investment.

Had a busy day yesterday, we started out in wynlakes with a breaker panel replacement. Finished at a house that had been struck by lightning, getting everything from bulbs to garage door opener working again. We replaced a lot of items, added whole home surge protection and another ground rod so they were protected for next time.

When lightning strikes affect you give us a call to get you back up quickly and safely.

Mention this post for 50.00 off whole home surge protection.

This recognition means so much to us because it wouldn’t be possible without the amazing customers, family, friends and community members who trust Wilson Electrical Services with their homes and businesses.

James pours his heart and soul into this company. This was just a dream of his a year ago that he has got to turn into a reality and I cannot thank everyone enough for allowing him to do what he loves and takes so much pride in. It is that time of year, lightning strikes are causing power surges and being very destructive to electrical systems. Whole home surge protection is designed to to protect your home from such surge. If your house is more than a couple years old then most likely you’re not protected. Along with this we typically add another grounding electrode to better protect your home and electrical appliances.

Below are some pictures of damaged items from lightning strike to just one home.

Give us a call for a free estimate to get your home protected.
