This is a super hot tip! Works so great for keeping those unwanted hedges trimmers out of your landscape or garden! And yes, I called them “deers” in the video, and I’m not going to re-record 😂

The short of it: string up clear fishing line about 3’ high around the space you want to protect. Deer can’t see the line, so when they walk up to it, they are spooked when it hits them in the chest, and they don’t proceed any further. You still may need low wire cages or other protection to keep the rabbits out, but I find this much easier and less unsightly than putting a full fence around a beautiful garden, especially in the front yard!

Side note: we have a HOLE in our calendar in a couple weeks and could squeeze in a garden or small patio for someone who has procrastinated! Send me a DM. Twin Cities metro only.

The trend this season is food gardens! We just finished this beautiful garden today, which features our framed cedar fence, raised cedar beds, in-ground beds for perennials such as herbs, flowers and blueberry bushes, and gravel foundation. This family is so excited to grow this their own food this year with their five and seven-year-olds!
