🔎 This is why we get on the roof
From the ground, this roof might not look like it has much going on.
But during a recent roof assessment, we found significant granule loss along with brittle, cracked shingles like the ones pictured here.
Granules are the protective surface of an asphalt shingle. As shingles age and lose those granules, the asphalt underneath becomes more exposed to the sun and weather. Over time, the shingles can also become brittle and begin cracking.
A cracked shingle doesn't automatically mean you need a whole new roof—but when we're seeing cracking, brittleness, and widespread granule loss together, it's a sign that the roofing system is getting well into its service life.
That's why we inspect first and recommend second.
If your roof needs replaced, we'll tell you. If it doesn't, we'll tell you that too.
