Do you know why your insurance company selects specific contractors to be in their ‘preferred vendor list’?
It isn’t why you think. It isn’t because they’ve been vetted. It isn’t because they do good work. It isn’t because they are local or have been in the industry long.
The simple answer: because they paid to be the referred vendor. The contractors agree to a set price with said insurance(s) and promise to not submit any changes regarding their scope. IF there is a discrepancy you, the homeowner, pay out of pocket.
As the homeowner you are also not guaranteed any better warranty, the work isn’t any different and often is rushed due to the cheaper pricing.
Do your homework. Call the BBB. Look at Google reviews and find out how long your specific sales rep has been in the industry. You don’t want a car salesman coming to sell you a roof because it hailed.
We have been in the industry for more than 45 years. Scot Sund, the owner, has been roofing for 50 years! He knows more about roofing, shingles, metal and tile than anyone in our industry. Don’t believe me? Call any supplier or manufacturer and ask.
