We got a call about a restoration project this morning. Apparently she’s about 305 feet tall, lives on an island, and hasn’t had the copper cleaned in roughly a century.

We told them we’d take a look, but we’re probably going to need a little more blasting hose. 😂

Before anyone calls the National Park Service, no, Clean Air Blasting has not been hired to sandblast the Statue of Liberty. And for the preservation experts already reaching for their keyboards, we’re not suggesting anyone should actually blast away Lady Liberty’s famous green patina either. This is Tuesday, people. We’re having some fun.

But it does make you appreciate what proper surface preparation can accomplish. From old metal and peeling coatings to classic vehicles, commercial properties, boats, trailers, equipment, railings, and considerably more reasonably sized restoration projects, removing years of deterioration is often where bringing something back to life begins.

So here’s today’s completely serious question:

Another week is in the books, and we hope everyone has a chance to slow down, spend some time with family and friends, and enjoy a well-earned weekend. Whether you’re heading out on Lake Norman, firing up the grill, taking the classic car for a drive, or finally getting around to that project you’ve been putting off, we hope it’s a good one.

If you’re anything like us, weekends have a funny way of turning into “work days” around the house.
