Hello! How to spot a "storm chaser" roofing scam

❗️Please read this and take note. ❗️

I have had calls from our past clients with frustration of roofing companies calling multiple times or knocking on their door asking to go up on their roof to look for hail damage from the June 29th hail storm that came through town.

#1. Mark has noticed that the newer roofs held up well and is not finding damage

#2. Be patient - the storm did NOT cause enough damage to put holes in your roof.

#3. Do your research before just letting anyone who calls or knocks up on your roof.

#4. Do a ground level inspection to see if you spot anything on siding, gutter, downs, etc.

#5. Check to see if they are local, licensed and insured.

#6. Check on how many years have they been in business.

I just had 2 clients call within the last hour with frustration over this and feeling a little uneasy. Remember to check them out on-line.

Love driving down 32nd Ave in Fargo and seeing the "Paw Print" we installed on Southgate Veterinary Hospital roof!

We do things differently - whether it is how we work on our installations - builds - remodels - exterior/interior projects. We are not afraid to do something differently. We truly love our clients and appreciate ALL of them! We have been in the neighborhood since 1966 and business was passed down to the founders daughter and her husband. We plan to be around for many more years! With all of our super employees - WE say "Thank you"!

Remember not to panic when you have gotten hail. 🫧

Last weeks storm was a scary one for sure! So far what we have seen is that if you have a newer roof - you are probably fine. The older roofs didn't take the hits as well.

Another tip: Don't just jump to the first contractor to get your roof done. You want to take your time and do your research. You want your contractor to be around if you need him for any reason in the future. The hail wasn't large enough to put holes in your roof - Siding, yes, and other materials that can not withstand the hit. So be patient! 🙂

Another tip: If you do need a new roof it isn't a bad idea to upgrade to a Class 4 impact resistant shingle. It is a good feeling that it has the extra protection.

Bonus! Your insurance company should provide a premium discount when you have a Class 4 IR (impact resistant) shingle installed! Yay! 😊💲
