Calls like this are why I don’t “love” my occupation.
It’s not every day we come across compressors that blow out at the plug terminals but when we do it’s usually a LG.
Could a maintenance have prevented this? Possibly not, this unit hadn’t been properly serviced since installation. We definitely would have been able to know the compressor was having problems however and would have given recommendations to prevent a break down when you depend on the air conditioner the most.
Products aren’t engineered to last forever anymore like the 1920s-1990s, they are engineered to maintain and maintenance every year, or replace every 5-10 years. That’s why having your HVAC systems serviced yearly is so valuable, it’ll save you time, money and unnecessary stress.
