JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager

GENERAL OVERVIEW
The Business Development Manager is responsible for supporting the positive direction, coordination, implementation, and trajectory for the ongoing new business ventures and opportunities for Cooper Resources LLC. He or she will work diligently to support consistent, positive and ongoing business development efforts while maintaining focus on quality control, promoting a positive sales approach, building successful client relationships, and maintaining superb communication with potential new clients. He or she will diligently seek out Horizontal Directional Drilling work and HDD projects, as well as other opportunities and/or other endeavors suited to the existing and expanding capabilities of Cooper Resources LLC. The Business Development Manager will maintain meticulous records and meet determined contact goals and will report daily on the progress of identified goals and benchmarks which will be reviewed and adjusted on a quarterly basis, at minimum. He/She will ensure flawless positive communication to all new and existing constituents; will support ongoing alignment with corporate strategy and commitment to overall fiscal objectives; and demonstrate commitment to the goals of the organization. Travel required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Research prospective new clients in targeted markets (pipeline, HDD, telecommunications, fiber, etc.) and tenaciously pursue leads and follow through to a successful agreement, MSA, contract, etc.
• Understand the target markets, including industry, company, project, company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract clients
• Collaborate with office and administrative team to ensure that paperwork, insurance requirements, ISNetworld requirements, etc. are met
• Maintain great relationships with current clients and identify new prospects within the industry
• Possess a strong understanding of HDD procedures, new areas of opportunity, and understand our competition in the industry and company positioning opportunities
• Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on corporate competitors, locations of projects, pricing, etc.
• Understand and optimize corporate assets and capabilities and be able to effectively communicate those to current and potential
• As instructed by Owner(s), liaise on behalf of Company with the Client’s representative regarding contract management and interpretation
• Ensure reporting routines are fulfilled each day or as required
• Provides direction, support, feedback and guidance to successfully plan and implement business development activities
• Help define new project scope, goals and deliverables on an ongoing basis
REQUIREMENTS
• Leadership experience in the industry for 5 or more years
• Extensive industry training and established connections with vendors and constituents known in the pipeline and/or fiber/telecommunications industry(ies).
• Detailed and demonstrated technical knowledge of underground construction
• Have a proven record of developing business relationships or finding/procuring underground construction work in multiple geographic areas of the United States and/or abroad
• Have a minimum of 3 years of detailed and hands on underground construction and/or HDD experience
• Be familiar with job bidding, cost reporting and cost verification as it pertains to developing budgets for bidding jobs
• Required to serve in a business development role to generate business for the company and build positive relationships on behalf of the company in an ongoing capacity at all times
• Maintain a positive attitude and represent the company in a positive capacity in all interactions and at all times
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Formalized degree/certificate or equivalent technical experience
• Demonstrated leadership/management experience
• Theoretical and practical pipeline construction management knowledge
• Knowledge of underground construction techniques and specialized tools, must know pipeline jargon
• Experience in job planning, safety, risk management and basic human resources activities necessary to effectively promote the capacity and abilities of Cooper Resources LLC
• Proficiency in construction planning tools to include pipeline-related technology and computer-based software
