Before and after reciever replacement for a walk in freezer. Who ever was here before me well wasn't the best at braizing. Customer was down for 2 months. I was able to get them back online in a day.

❄ Did you know Summer blockbuster movies got their start thanks to air conditioning. In the summer, people often went to movie theaters to enjoy the air conditioning. Production companies took advantage of this fact, and they began to release their biggest hits in the summer. Although many people now have air conditioning in their homes and they no longer have to seek refuge from the heat at the theaters, the tradition continues today. ❄

Here is an issue that seems small but creates havoc for your system. Txv bulbs should be mounted on the suction line between 4-5 or 6-8 o'clock. This customers was not and it wiped out a $3500 compressor. Compressor was replaced 2 months ago and was under warranty. Previous contractor did no do their due diligence. Set the bulbs for the 3 cases and adjusted the Superheat. Case line up running like new.

You know what time it is.... 🧐 Fun Fact Friday 🤓... Today's fun fact is a little.... well let's see what you think! For all of our ice eating friends

❄️IN THE 19TH CENTURY YOU DID NOT WANT TO EAT THE ICE!❄️

Ice was harvested from lakes and ponds in the 19th century. Even the cleanest of ice cut from lakes had a little bit of algae inside. Cheaper ice was a bit more gross. To increase ice yields, harvesters would drill through the first layer of the pond ice, so it sank a little, bringing more water to the surface to then freeze into thicker ice. But this trapped leaves, dirt, and anything else on the ponds surface inside the frozen block. Ice harvested near cities was frequently made with contaminated water filled with factory pollution and sewage.

Had a customer whose case plenum collapsed and broke a bunch of fan motors and blades. Installed supports for the bottom pans and replaced all the broken motors and blades. The customer is now able to use their display case again. Here at Hannon Mechanical we do what we can to get and keep our customers equipment online.

❄️🍺🍷 Refrigeration pioneers were just trying to keep their booze cold! ❄️🍺🍷

James Harrison, a Scottish-born journalist, invented the first functioning refrigerator in the 1850s using ether. According to Jackson, he used it to chill beer. Decades later, a French monk would get the credit for the world’s first domestic refrigerator. In 1911, General Electric acquired the rights to Abbé Marcel Audiffren’s electric refrigerator, which he had made to chill wine. GE sold its model for $1000, about twice the price of a car at that time.

Here is a little Fun Fact Friday! 🤓

Did you know the first United States refrigeration patent was filed by a doctor? Dr. John Gorrie from Florida was looking for a way to keep fever - stricken patients from overheating. Hoping to cool the air with cold water, he created a compression system in the 1840's. Instead of cooling the water he ended up freezing it. He patented it in 1851 and went into the refrigeration business.

Here we have a walk in cooler floor that I repaired for a customer. Used 20g stainless steel. Cut out the buckled old seams and layed new metal. Also made and easier transition for their product that goes in on carts.
