A lot of what makes a solar installation reliable long-term is the workmanship people never notice from the ground.

One small example:
We intentionally place our Soladeck junction boxes where they remain accessible and serviceable in the future — while also routing the PV wire/trunk cable beneath the modules so it isn’t sitting exposed to years of direct UV sunlight.

Small details matter.

Electrician opinion (after installing and planning EV chargers locally):

If I owned a home and was planning to add an EV charger in the next few years, I wouldn’t start by choosing the charger.

I’d start by evaluating the electrical system first.

Here’s why:

Most homes weren’t originally designed for long-duration loads like EV charging — especially when you add modern HVAC, finished basements, hot tubs, or future plans like solar and battery backup.

Things that matter more than people realize:

👉 Actual panel capacity (not just empty breaker spaces)
👉 Service size — 100A vs 200A makes a big difference long term
👉 Load calculations for continuous charging
👉 Planning ahead for future upgrades instead of doing things twice

The charger itself is usually the easy part — designing the system around how you want your home to function is where most problems (or smart decisions) happen.
