Chris tackles a frustrating one. Your AC is running, but your house just is not cooling. What is going on?

The most common culprit is a clogged air filter. A dirty filter restricts airflow and makes it nearly
impossible for your system to cool your home effectively, so that is always the first thing to check.

If your filter is clean and you are still having issues, it could be a number of things, from low refrigerant to a failing component to ductwork problems. At that point, it is time to call in a professional to diagnose it properly.

Always start with the filter. You might just save yourself a service call.

🌟 August Employee Spotlight: Meet Billy! 🌟

We are thrilled to shine this month's spotlight on our Service Coordinator, Billy! Billy was also voted as our quarterly Green Team Verified Crew Member by his Honest Air teammates!

📍 About Billy:
Growing up in Poolesville, MD, Billy now calls Eldersburg home. He loves spending his free time going on adventures with the love of his life, Bethann, and his best friend—his dog, Wyatt! 🐶 He also comes from a big family, with three brothers, one sister, and lots of nieces and nephews.

💼 Why Honest Air?
For Billy, it’s all about the culture and camaraderie. He says Andrew has built an amazing team, and the people he works with are what he enjoys most about his job.

Chris gets this question all the time. What should I actually set my thermostat to?

The honest answer is that it is really up to your personal preference. There is no universal perfect number. What matters more is being mindful of what your home is built to maintain efficiently.

Older homes, homes with less insulation, or homes with a lot of sun exposure may struggle to maintain extreme settings, which means your system works harder and your energy bill climbs. Find a temperature that keeps you comfortable without forcing your system to fight against your home's natural conditions.
