A roofing contractor should always do three important things during an appointment. First, they should physically get on the roof and perform a real inspection instead of just looking from the ground. This allows them to properly check for damaged shingles, flashing issues, ventilation problems, soft decking, and any signs of leaks or storm damage. Second, they should take clear photos while they are up there and show them to the homeowner so you can actually see the condition of your roof for yourself and understand exactly what they found. Third, they should provide the estimate while they are there whenever possible, so you can ask questions, go over options, and make an informed decision without waiting days just to get basic pricing or information.
