🌪️ CYCLONE PLANT PREP 101 🌿
With wild weather on the horizon, here’s how to protect your plants from strong winds and heavy rain:
1️⃣ Move potted plants – Place them indoors, in a sheltered area, or against a sturdy wall. Group them together for extra stability.
2️⃣ Anchor larger pots – If moving isn’t an option, secure them with sandbags, bricks, or heavy stones around the base.
3️⃣ Tie down tall plants – Use garden stakes, trellises, or secure them to a fence to prevent snapping.
4️⃣ Trim dead branches – Reduce wind resistance and prevent broken branches from becoming projectiles.
5️⃣ Lay delicate plants down – For smaller, fragile plants, place them horizontally on the ground with a light cover to reduce wind impact.
6️⃣ Secure garden décor – Bring in loose items like plant stands, tools, and garden furniture that could be tossed around.
7️⃣ Check drainage – Make sure pots and garden beds have good drainage to prevent root rot from excess water.
