We love being a library partner with Milanof-Schock Public Library!
Partnering to Support Mount Joy Families and Lifelong Learning
We're grateful for Hershey HVAC & Plumbing, a local family business who sponsored all three months of this year's Summer Reading Program!
Founded in 2014, Hershey Heating & Air Conditioning started with one truck and a simple goal: to serve people well by being uncommon in their industry. What began as a one-person operation has grown into a trusted local business providing heating, cooling, plumbing, and water-conditioning services throughout Mount Joy and surrounding communities.
For owners Ryan & Lindsay Hershey, supporting Milanof-Schock Library is personal.
"As parents of three young children, we've experienced firsthand how valuable the library is to local families," Lindsay shared. "Our children love visiting the library, choosing new books, participating in activities, and taking part in the Summer Reading Program." Supporting the program felt like a natural extension of something their own family enjoys and values. The Hershey family has been supporting Milanof-Schock Library since 2021 and continues to invest in programs that help local children discover the joy of reading.
Their connection to the library goes back even further. Lindsay fondly remembers visiting the Mount Joy Library as a child when it was still located on Main Street.
"I can still picture the children's room, listening to stories being read and getting to choose new books to take home," she said. "A visit to the library often included stopping at the penny candy store afterward, which made the entire outing feel especially exciting." Those visits were a vivid and meaningful childhood memory for Lindsay, and today she's enjoying watching her own children create those same kinds of memories.
Hershey Heating & Air Conditioning believes strong communities are created when local businesses and organizations work together. Through their Summer Reading Program sponsorship, they hope to help the library provide books, activities, and meaningful experiences that encourage children to keep reading, learning, and exploring all summer long.
Their message to young readers?
"Enjoy every reading adventure! Books can take you to new places, introduce you to interesting people and ideas, and help you discover things you never knew you would enjoy."
"We have been inspired by so many individuals, businesses, and organizations in our community that use their abilities and resources to serve others well," shared Lindsay. "We believe God calls us to do the same with what He has given us. We are grateful to partner with organizations like the library that are already making a meaningful difference, and we hope that, together, we can encourage even more people to become involved and invest in the community around them."
