One of the biggest challenges in masonry restoration is making repairs look like they’ve always been there.

The Witmer Group is currently performing masonry restoration work at an elementary school, including brick repair and repointing, parapet rebuilding, lintel replacement, EIFS roof repairs, masonry cleaning, water repellent application, and selective brick replacement throughout the building exterior.

Projects like this require more than removing and replacing damaged materials. Our team is carefully evaluating existing masonry conditions, coordinating brick matching efforts, and executing repairs in phases to maintain consistency across the façade while addressing deterioration throughout the structure

Like putting together a very large puzzle, only every piece is made of stone. 🧩

The Witmer Group masonry team is making progress on the expansion at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA, one of the nation’s largest national cemeteries honoring veterans and their families.

For this portion of the project, our crews are carefully installing natural limestone veneer and architectural stonework that will become part of the cemetery’s new addition. Every piece is measured, leveled, and set with precision to create a finished product built to stand the test of time while honoring the significance of the space it serves. 🇺🇸

Brick by brick, safety is built into everything we do at The Witmer Group, and that culture is strengthened every day through the leadership and dedication of Chris Seasock, Director of Safety, and Anna Schickel, Safety Operations Manager. Their commitment to protecting our people, supporting our teams, and promoting safe practices across every project helps ensure that safety remains at the foundation of our work.

National Safety Month is a reminder that the strongest foundations start with looking out for one another and making every job site safer than we found it. Because great work only happens when everyone goes home safe.

The Witmer Group took this elevation back to the structure and rebuilt it the right way.

At 15 N Prince, the existing stucco system was fully removed to expose the original brick substrate. From there, the wall was prepped for a complete stucco system replacement, starting with the installation of self-furring galvanized lath across the surface.

Once reinforcement was in place, the new assembly was built in layers: a scratch coat, followed by a reinforced brown coat with embedded mesh, then primer and finish coat. Each step adds strength, flexibility, and adhesion, allowing the system to perform as a single, continuous barrier.

All of this work happened at height, with access coordinated by aerial lift and scaffold systems to safely reach the full façade.

May’s Employee of the Month, Jacob Leonard, is celebrating three years with The Witmer Group after joining the team on April 10th, 2023. His path into the trade began right out of high school, starting in precast concrete before expanding his experience into epoxy flooring, waterproofing, caulking, and concrete work.

For Jacob, one of the most rewarding parts of the job is the people he works with each day. He appreciates both his crew and the leadership around him, noting that the support from management has played a big role in his development, especially learning from leaders like Brent Miller.

Throughout his time in the trade, Jacob has grown in his ability to problem solve and adapt to whatever challenges come his way. Learning to think on his feet and figure things out in real time has been a key part of his progression. Looking ahead, Jacob is open to continuing his growth within the company.

What motivates him every day is his family and the drive to provide a good life for them.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, recently traveling to Kentucky to visit loved ones and meet the newest addition to the family, and planning beach trips when he can.

His dedication to his team, steady growth, and strong work ethic make him a well deserved choice for this recognition.

At The Witmer Group, we’re taking a moment today to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Their sacrifice is the reason we’re able to do what we do every day. We honor them, and we remember.

Three years. 10 graduates. One milestone moment.

The Witmer Group Apprenticeship Class of 2026 was celebrated at York Revolution's WellSpan Park as part of ABC Keystone’s annual graduation ceremony.

These graduates represent the next generation of skilled craft professionals who were trained through a powerful combination of classroom education, hands-on learning, and real-world jobsite experience.

Through dedication, discipline, and hard work, they have earned industry-recognized credentials and built the foundation for long-term careers in the trades.

We’re proud of their journey, grateful for the mentors who helped guide them, and excited to see what they build next.

Please join us in congratulating The Witmer Group’s 2026 apprenticeship graduates!

Seasoning dust, residue, daily use. It all ends up on the floor. Getting that cleaned out is step one before anything else happens.

In this space, food seasoning had built up into the surface and the existing lines were too worn to clearly define pallet staging.

We prepped the floor with shot blasting to remove contamination and get it ready for a new system. From there, fresh pallet staging lines were installed in safety yellow to create clear layout and movement through the area.

A clear coat was added over the striping to help protect from wear and to increase lifespan under daily traffic.

Water doesn’t need a major failure point. It works its way through the smallest gap.

That’s why waterproofing and building envelope work comes down to continuity at every transition point.

At this student housing project, our team installed:

• Self adhered sheet waterproofing carried from above grade, across the brick shelf, and down the face of the footer
• Drainage course designed to move water away from the wall assembly
• Pre applied under slab waterproofing at elevator pits tied directly into the vertical membrane system
• Spray applied air barrier across sheathing and CMU backup walls
• Sealant systems at masonry joints, precast connections, doors, louvers, sidewalks, and other critical transitions

A lot of this work happens behind the finished facade, but it plays a major role in keeping moisture out and protecting the building long term.
