Today, at Music City Tree & Brush Removal LLC, we had the pleasure of donating our services to the Wilson County School District on the Mount Juliet Middle School campus.
As our community continues to navigate efforts to further fund and duly compensate school teachers and staff, I brought it upon myself to give back to the system that gave so much to me.
A very short couple of years ago, I was a part of the school system. I endured it all—the good, the bad, and the ugly. I witnessed the daily struggles of building maintenance, limited funding, and a lack of resources. At the same time, many teachers and staff members were personally struggling to make ends meet. Through no fault of their own, they continue to serve our children while working within a financial system that often leaves them behind.
Small acts of kindness and charitable contributions from those who are able can be a meaningful step toward easing some of those burdens and supporting our schools in ways that budgets alone sometimes cannot.
With that said, I challenge those who are in a position to help to do just that. Local businesses, community leaders, and neighbors all have the ability to make a lasting impact. Whether it’s donating services, equipment, materials, labor, or simply volunteering your time, every contribution matters.
Strong schools build strong communities. The students sitting in those classrooms will become tomorrow’s workforce, first responders, business owners, tradesmen, healthcare professionals, and leaders. Investing in them and those influencing and guiding them is an investment in all of our futures.
This wasn’t about advertising my business or seeking recognition. It was simply about doing what I could to give back to the community that helped shape who I am today. I hope this is just the beginning, and I encourage others to join us in finding ways—big or small—to support the schools, teachers, and staff who dedicate so much of themselves to our education system and students.
If you’re a local business, community leader, or simply a neighbor looking for a way to give back, I encourage you to reach out to a school board member, the district, or a school in your community and ask where there’s a need. You might be surprised how much of a difference a single day, a single project, or a single act of generosity can make.
Let’s stop waiting for someone else to solve the problem.
