Hey everybody. If you have an old worn out hvac unit or are just wanting to upgrade to something more efficient and reliable now may be the time. It was just announced. I would like to give everybody a heads up before this winter weather comes in here. If we have a lot of freezing rain and ice like they are predicting, and you have a heat pump system, the outdoor unit will get covered in ice and it’s not going to function properly . Heat pumps have an automatic defrost function, but will not work under these extreme conditions. Your system will need to be turned to “emergency heat “ on your thermostat. if you see ice all over your outdoor unit.  there’s not gonna be a lot we can do until the storm passes over and temperatures rise a little bit then your system should start operating properly. If your emergency heat does not work then give us a call. If we can make it to your house. We will do our best to get out there and get it working for you . Thank You
