Custom lighting is what turns a house into a home.
It shapes mood, highlights architecture, and brings intention to every room. When lighting is designed specifically for a space — not just installed — it elevates everything around it. Textures look richer. Ceilings feel higher. The details you invested in finally get the attention they deserve.

And here’s the truth: the first picture you get from a lighting manufacturer rarely tells the full story. It doesn’t show scale, proportion, ceiling height, sightlines, or how the fixture will actually live in your home. That’s why you need someone who can walk the space with you, understand the architecture, and help you choose — or customize — the fixture so it’s perfect for your homeowner.

This is where thoughtful planning matters.
When we coordinate early with your builder and designer, we can center a chandelier perfectly on a beam, hide wiring inside millwork, float a fixture over a freestanding tub, or create layered lighting that shifts from task to ambiance with a single touch. These aren’t afterthoughts — they’re the decisions that make a home feel custom, cohesive, and beautifully intentional.

Great lighting doesn’t just illuminate a space. It transforms it.
And when it’s done right, you feel the difference the moment you walk in.

Details Matter — Part 4
Everyone loves the cute parts of a build — the lighting ✨, the tile choices 🎨, the finished spaces that make you stop and stare 😍.

But this part right here?
The not cute part? 🛠️😅
It’s the part no one posts… and the part that matters the most.

V***r barriers, plumbing stubs 🚰, slab prep, grounding paths ⚡ — none of it is glamorous, but every bit of it determines how well that home performs for decades. Miss something here, and it won’t show up until it’s too late… and too expensive 💸.

This is why communication matters.
This is why details matter.
And this is why telling your electrician everything — even the small stuff — keeps the entire build on track.

The pretty things only work when the foundation is right 🧱✨.

Details Matter — Part 3

Before the pretty finishes, before the lighting layouts, before the trim and the tile and the Pinterest boards… there’s this stage. The part no homeowner ever frames for Instagram — but the part that determines whether everything after it works the way it should.

These block columns aren’t “just structure.” Their alignment, load paths, elevations, mechanical clearances, and future electrical decisions all happen long before wires are ever pulled or concrete is poured, if you want lighting later! If a column shifts, if a measurement is off, if a layout changes without communication, it affects every trade that follows — including us.

This is why details matter from day one.
If you’re adjusting floor plans, adding windows, changing door locations, modifying elevations, or rethinking room layouts, your electrician needs to know early. The earlier we’re looped in, the cleaner the final product — and the fewer surprises once walls start closing in.

Beautiful homes start with invisible precision.
What you don’t see is what makes what you do see possible.

✨ Details matter — especially in electrical- Part 2✨

In a custom home, the smallest decisions shape the entire feel of a space. This kitchen is a perfect example.

Instead of dropping the pendants from the vaulted ceiling, we mounted them directly on the beam. That one choice keeps the sightline clean, centers the fixtures exactly where the island needs them, and prevents the cords from visually cutting through the room’s architecture. It’s a subtle detail, but it completely changes the balance of the space.

These are the conversations that matter early in a build:
• Where will the beams land?
• How will the lighting align with cabinetry and the island?
• What height keeps the pendants functional and beautiful?
• Do we need blocking or pre‑wire adjustments before sheetrock?

When your electrician is looped in on design decisions from the start, the finished home feels intentional, seamless, and elevated.

Details matter.
In a custom home, every choice—big or small—changes how the space feels and functions. Door swings, wallpaper seams, stair lighting, the placement of a freestanding powder room sink… it all works together to create a home that feels intentional.

And when it comes to electrical, those details matter even more.

Tell your electrician everything.
If you’re planning a statement mirror, a floating vanity, a specialty sconce, a hidden outlet, a Control4 keypad, or a feature wall that needs to stay clean—share it early. The more we know on the front end, the more seamlessly we can wire and light the space so your design shines the way you envisioned.

Builders pour their heart into every detail of a custom home. Our job is to support that vision with clean, code‑compliant, beautifully executed electrical work that elevates the craftsmanship your builder is already delivering.

🔥 The Lowcountry isn’t used to this kind of cold… but your outdoor spaces don’t have to shut down because of it. With temperatures dipping well below what we normally see, Infratech outdoor heaters are one of the most reliable ways to keep your porch, patio, or outdoor kitchen warm and comfortable.

Infratech’s infrared technology delivers even, efficient heat without the noise, fumes, or bulk of traditional heaters — and they integrate beautifully into custom homes.

Infratech is excited to introduce the “SWEET SPOT” Heater. Building upon over fifty years of experience, we have found that the combination of a new 48” Heater Body & 5200-Watts (dual elements) is the perfect balance of warmth and style. In some installations, the 61” is too long, and the 39” is too short.

Carolina Custom Electric installs Infratech systems with the same precision and clean finish we bring to all of our projects. If you’re tired of avoiding your favorite outdoor spots during this freeze, we can help you stay warm without sacrificing style

🌀 Winter storm incoming — and not the kind we’re used to.
Here in the Lowcountry, we usually spend our time preparing for hurricanes… but this weekend, it’s the freezing rain we’re watching. With ice, wind, and dropping temps in the forecast, power outages are very possible.

A Generac standby generator keeps your home running when the grid doesn’t — heat, lights, refrigeration, security, all protected automatically.
