A delivery showed up to a multifamily project, but there was a problem.

Nearly half of the interior door hardware we were expecting wasn't on the truck.

The doors were ready, our installation crew was scheduled, and the project had other trades working right behind us. Waiting for the missing hardware to arrive could have meant losing several days and pushing the schedule back.

Instead, we changed the plan.

We had the hollow metal doors and hardware needed for the building entrances and other exterior openings, so our crew started there instead. While installation continued on those openings, our team tracked down the missing interior hardware and coordinated getting it to the site.

Once the remaining hardware arrived, the crew shifted inside and picked up the interior doors without losing momentum.

No crew sitting around waiting. No wasted trip to the job site. No need to put the entire scope on hold because one part of the delivery was missing.

Not every challenge on a job site comes from the materials. Sometimes it's simply having the right people available at the right time.

On one multifamily project, our door installation crew unexpectedly had to step away from the job for the week due to illness. The easy answer would have been to pause that scope and push the schedule back.

Instead, we looked at the project as a whole.

Because Garris Direct manages multiple scopes, we were able to adjust the schedule, move our cabinetry team onto the site sooner than planned, and keep work moving while the door installers recovered. By the time they returned, the project hadn't lost a week. It had simply kept moving in a different direction.
