Last night as I was leaving Brookshires getting groceries after a very long day at work I apparently dropped my wallet somewhere in the parking lot, most likely while pulling my truck keys out of my pocket. As I pulled into my driveway before I even got out of my truck I received a call from the Franklin County sheriffs office informing me that there was some property there of mine that I needed to retrieve. I was informed that someone had turned in my wallet. Upon retrieving it I found that every single thing was exactly as it had been. Not a card or a single dollar missing. I asked if the officers knew who the ” Good Samaritan” was so that could express my gratitude and they informed me that they had not identified themselves. A while later I recieved a message from the folks who had turned it in asking if I had lost my wallet and if so that it was at the Sheriffs office. I expressed my gratitude for the extreme amount of headache and trouble they had saved me. They flatly refused to accept any compensation for their good deed. So the very least I can do is publicly thank the good people at the Franklin county Sheriffs office and the “ good samaritans” David Davis and Angela Davis for their very gracious handling of this. Many people would have emptied the wallet of everything of value and tossed it to the side. I’m extremely grateful for the effort and the honesty and the display of integrity that was shown to me.
I absolutely appreciate it beyond words and If you know any of these folks involved give them a pat on the back. I love this community.
