We are utterly devastated and heartbroken to let our family, friends, customers, and community know that Reese Whitney entered in to heaven’s glory on September 25, 2026 at the age of 21. There are no words to express the loss we are experiencing. We thank you for your prayers and support as we grieve.
Things we would like you to know and remember about Reese.
He was…
· Born April 5, 2005 and raised in Idyllwild Mountain Center
· Youngest son to Noah and Danielle Whitney
· Jeremiah and Lilah’s brother
· A believer in Christ Jesus
· Betrothed to his girlfriend of six years, Bridgett
· A loving grandson, cousin, nephew, uncle, and true friend to so many
· Ever the prankster but a kind young man
· My hunting buddy
· Fearless
· A decent golfer, but a really good fisherman
· The one who always had a kind word and a smile for everyone he encountered, and what a smile it was
· Full of a natural charm that made everyone feel special
· A gentle giant with a tender heart of pure gold
· 220 pounds of solid muscle earned through disciplined bodybuilding, yet could run and hike with the fastest of them.
· An awesome tree man and equipment operator, a beast mode worker
· And for the last five months a wildland firefighter with the United States Forest Service, Vista Grande Hot Shots on the San Bernardino national Forest. He fought fires at the US Mexico border, Camp Pendleton, some local fires, Nevada, Colorado, Montana, and the Los Padres national Forest on the California coast
Reese lived from a truly fearless and humongous heart
