Schroeder Carpentry

Schroeder Carpentry I am a finish carpenter who desires to bring excellence and precision to you. Whether you know what you want, or need help deciding I can help you out!

I am a licensed general contractor in rural SW Minnesota who specializes in kitchen and bath remodels. As the owner and only employee I do the carpentry work myself whenever possible with the help of quality subcontractors when necessary. I take pride in my work and enjoy helping a homeowner from start to finish through a remodel project. I rely on good communication, quality work, and cleanliness throughout the process.

Here is another installation of some beautiful custom made oak cabinets. It took two people to lift some of the heavier pieces, but this kitchen should last a lifetime!

Sometimes a carpenter's work is less glorious than an amazing kitchen transformation or remodel project, but it is no less appreciated by the homeowner. This year has been the year for replacing windows. Here are some examples of windows I've replace this year. You'll see one project included three new headers replaced from the outside to make room for a patio door, a larger sized entry door, a larger upper window, and all new siding. If you need new windows, it's never to early to start thinking about planning your window project for next spring!

to the very first project I did as a new business owner. It was about 4 1/2 years ago when I finished this basement located near the Twin Cities, and it felt so good to get the first project under my belt. I just recently was able to take some pictures of everything completed. I installed the doors, the trim work, the fireplace surround, and the barn door. The cabinets were already installed when I got started.

One of the perks of owning an old house is that sometimes you get to find things that bring the history of the house alive. I recently took down the walls of the coal room in our basement and found some of the coal that was used for the main heat source at some point. I saved the wood that lined the interior of the room and decided to use a couple pieces for shelves. Now instead of holding the coal that warmed our house they hold the books that shape our minds.

This bathroom had the only accessible shower in the house so our goal was to completely remodel the room as fast as possible. In one week it went from old to new and the owners were using the shower, sink, and toilet again. Thanks to Hanson Plumbing for helping make it happen!

Our Story

My name is Corey. For ten years I worked for a general contractor and learned through experience many different things about the building and remodeling process. With their help I discovered my own skill set and excelled in the area of finish work. I enjoyed installing cabinetry of all kinds in many new and remodeled homes. But life brings change, and even though I enjoyed my previous job and employer I decided to venture out on my own.

Schroeder Carpentry exists because of a felt call to make myself available to help people with my carpentry skills. Along with providing for my young family through the income of the business, I enjoy helping when I encounter people in need. My mission is to work for people who want to pay for excellence and help those who are struggling. I am convinced that the skills I have gained were not given to me simply for accomplishing the American dream, but to improve the lives of people around me.

I work with homeowners and general contractors who generally know what they want and need an installer to get the job done. I have skills in nearly all areas of carpentry and all of them are done with caution and precision. It seems that in many cases, people think a job must be done with an either/or mentality, meaning that the work is either fast and sloppy or slow and excellent. While it’s true that quality takes time, I try to keep a high level of precision without sacrificing too much speed. I can bring this balance when I work with you.
