The Lyman Farm was purchased in 1824 and has always been a dairy farm, along with offering hay and grain for
sale. Located in the Town of Stockbridge, the Lyman Farm is a familiar site to local residents and well known for its
agricultural heritage. For more than 190 years and throughout many lives, this beautiful farm has been a part of
the landscape and community of Madison County. The Lyman

Farm has been passed down from father to son, beginning with Jesse Lyman in 1824 and followed by
Charles G. Lyman, and Glen I. Lyman, and in 1960 Lloyd E. In 1992, Lloyd continued the
tradition when he gave operation of the 180 acre farm to his son, Glen S. Lyman and his family. Representing the sixth
generation of Lymans, they continue to rotate crops of hay, corn and oats and maintain a small dairy operation of about 40 cows.
