Plumbers & Pipefitters #160 Plumbers & Pipefitters UA Local 160 has a long and proud history of serving the residential and industrial needs of Southern Illinois since 1928. A.

Through our signatory contractors, we have been serving homeowners, schools, hospitals, businesses, manufacturing plants, and power plants. We are a multi-craft union, and we represent our membership in the Plumbing, Pipefitting, Refrigeration, Controls, and Air Conditioning industries. Our area offers educational opportunities at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. We have river

boat gambling in Metropolis, Illinois, and we have several lakes and parks for recreation. Our jurisdiction reaches the southern-most part of the state and covers the counties of Randolph, Perry, Jackson, Union, Alexander, Johnson, Pulaski, Pope, Massac, and Hardin. We take pride in our member's workmanship, and no matter how large or how small the project, we offer U. skilled mechanics for the job.

-Our Plumbers are trained in the Illinois Plumbing Code, and are licensed by the State of Illinois.

-We build, repair, and service plumbing needs, as well as piping systems, in power plants.

-We install, repair, and service medical piping for hospitals and other health care facilities.

-We at Local 160 are working hard today to build a better tomorrow for our membership.

James Edward “Jim” Haury, 83, of Sparta, IL; born on December 15, 1942 in Sparta, IL, the son of Edward and Wanda, née Hetherington, Haury; passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026 at St. John Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Egyptian Building Trades 2025 Labor Day picnic will be held on Monday, September 1st at the Expo Hall inside the DuQuoin Fairgounds. Doors open at 11am. Food will be served at noon. Food and Beverages will be provided. There will also be a live band and we will have ride wristbands available for members and families. Enter the Fairgounds through Gate 4 off of Jackson Street in DuQuoin. Tell attendant you are there for the Labor Day picnic and get a parking spot as close as possible. We hope to see you there.

The Local will be walking with the Egyptian Building Trades in the DuQuoin State Fair twilight parade this Friday evening, the 22nd of August. Parade starts at 6pm, line up South of the Grandstands around 5:45pm. Approximate line up spot as in years past. Halfway down the blue line on the map. If you are interested in walking, we will see you there. There is free parking on Friday night.

The Egyptian Building Trades will also be hosting a Labor Day picnic on Monday, September 1st at the Expo Hall at the DuQuoin State Fairgounds. We will make a post with the details of that in the next few days.

Congratulations to Robert Petro, Ty Taborn, Andrew Iubelt, Gavin Thies, Hayden Harriss, Dylan Brown, and Colten Titsworth for being the 7 newest Journeyman added to UA Local 160.
