The rain hasn’t stopped MRC. At the Kelso project, 1100 sq ft of hardwood was installed, damaged drywall ceiling was textured and painted to blend with existing, and crown and base trim was installed in the affected rooms. On the McClure project, 5800 sq ft of glue down vinyl plank and over a 1000’ of vinyl base trim is going down this week.

Another busy week at MRC. A water mitigation project in Barlow due to an ice-maker line caused significant flooring damage upstairs and then damage to the ceiling in basement. Also started a rebuild after the client waited 5 months for the previous restoration company. 1100’ of subfloor was removed and replaced, jack posts installed around the staircase, and drywall repair started. Hardwood floor will be installed next week along with repainting the ceiling and trim.

The McClure project is moving along. After a fire severely damaged the 5800’ office, we have been rebuilding it back. This week, VanSickle Mechanical Services wrapped up the HVAC install of an all new 4 unit system. installed all new MC cable throughout the building with new lighting and outlets. The drop ceiling is being finished up next week with the flooring being installed after that. MRC installed new 26-gauge metal on the entirety of the building due to heat damage so the building is practically brand new now.

Another project wrapped up recently. Lakewood Resort Campground had issues with existing poplar siding from the humidity in the bathhouses and MRC installed Tuffcore siding on the walls for the walls and ceiling. This product is vinyl and offers low maintenance, seamless appearance, and is mold and mildew resistant. A great product for commercial bathrooms, garages, or any space that needs durable wall covering.

A recent water damage project completed by MRC. A client had a water heater leak causing cupping of existing laminate flooring. After 3 days of running drying equipment, the drying standard was reached. The existing flooring was no longer in production so new LVT was installed that matched the rest of the home.

🫗 Water damage doesn't fix itself. Here's what the restoration process actually looks like.
These are a couple recent water damage jobs we've completed across Western Kentucky. What you're seeing? Industrial air movers and dehumidifiers doing what they're supposed to do—removing moisture before it turns into mold, structural damage, and a much bigger problem.

Here's what most people don't realize about water restoration:
🔹 Drying takes days, not hours. We don't just soak up the water and leave. Proper drying means monitoring humidity levels, airflow, and moisture content in walls, floors, and subfloors.
🔹 Equipment placement matters. Those blue fans aren't randomly placed—they're strategically positioned to create airflow that pulls moisture OUT of the structure.
🔹 Sometimes we open walls. (See that exposed framing?) If water got behind drywall or under flooring, we need to access it to dry it properly. Otherwise, you're just trapping moisture and growing mold.

This is why experience matters. After 30+ years responding to water emergencies—burst pipes, storms, appliance failures—we know how to assess damage, dry it right, and prevent long-term issues.
