As I decided to retire, after 26 years in the United States Army, I knew that it was necessary to figure out what I wanted to do as I was finally forced to grow up. I knew that I wanted to work outside, be challenged every day, make other people happy, and provide a quality service at a fair price. One of my best friends was a fencing contractor in the agriculture heartland of Kentucky. After tell
ing him that I was retiring he invited to show me the ropes of big agriculture fencing. I grew up in Montana and my family had a large farm so naturally thought that I already knew all there was to building fences. The very first day of my apprenticeship showed me how little I actually knew about fences. I started working for free, because that is all I was worth to an experienced fencing crew. I humbly started out at the bottom with all the worst jobs. Slowly, as I listened and learned, I worked my way into a paid position. I steadily expanded my knowledge of fencing materials, engineering and design, modern techniques and tools, and sourcing quality building materials. I liked what I was doing so much that I decided to take my friends advice and start my own fencing company. Spartan Fencing and Services (SFAS) was born in the summer of 2015. We specialize in agriculture fencing. This fencing includes Horse rail, woven wire, high tensile, barbwire and plank fencing. We can provide a variety of material options to support your needs and budget. These materials include creosote posts and oak, poplar and pine planks, Kencove fencing products, locally procured materials or using materials that you have on hand to complete your project. I am also a tarter dealer and a Capitol fencing material retailer. At Spartan Fencing we drive your posts to a desired depth with a tracked skid loader and a Nitro 1000 post driver. If the terrain is too rocky then we can auger your post holes and set each post.
