Before and after… supposed to be easy job making some connections in a temp service pole. This panel in a shop will be permanent. Left by the “electrical contractor” that didn’t come back. Total trash. If you cant look these first 2 pics and see whats wrong then please stop doing electrical work…

Saturday Service call for what was supposed to be no power to an HVAC disconnect that feeds 2 compressors. Home owner came into town and 2 of 4 hvac systems not running. Called hvac company… hvac company says call electrician.. common occurrence. Figured quick call bad breaker or some relatively easy repair… well… this 50 year old panel had left leg terminal lug burned and the neutral and right terminal lug were so loose it’s amazing they were not burned as well. Buss connection where breaker feeding hvac was positioned was burned and breaker had one leg connection burned out of it. Odd thing is this house has 400 amp service. The 50 year old panel next to it was all tight and normal. It’s like it sat here 50 plus years loose and somehow never had an issue or someone at some point loosened these studs and didn’t retorque them. This panel is currently turned off. Full panel replacement for Monday morning and the left one and all rotten hvac disconnects being replaced later this month. This hvac call saved this house. Lights flickering when I showed up and all you could hear standing in front of panel was “snap crackle and pop”…

A service call for a water heater with a power issue turned into an emergency panel swap. The 2 breakers feeding 2 water heaters crumbled in my hand. Totally burned into the back of this old Challenger brand antique. Original panel was a mess. Even found 2 drywall screws put in wall from back side of panel penetrating 1 inch into the inside. Before and after of this burned panel hidden in the crawl space of one of the most amazing properties in Pawleys island. One of many panels on the property. This one had loose bus connections from time and years of poorly added circuits. If your home or business has a panel that looks like this, smells like burned plastic, or makes snapping noises give us a call!!!

They chose the one with the drywall removal… If you need a panel upgrade, a service replaced, an EV CHG charging station, pool panels, hot tub disconnect, etc etc etc… give us a call.
