Anyone want to take a guess on what caused this?
The issue is most builders install a single hung window ( only the bottom opens)which only allows for a half screen or windows get replaced with a double hung window ( top and bottom open) and only used a half screen allowing the top sash (glass) to reflect, screen stops reflection, film added to your neighbors window will void any window warranty and not guaranteed to work, needs to be a double hung window with a full screen or a turtle glass (non reflective glass). This is a major problem. Have seen it burn grass and cause pine straw to catch on fire. Not any easy solutions.

7 PM MONDAY 8/10/2026 TROPICAL UPDATE

Despite three areas we’re watching in the Atlantic, there are currently no tropical threats to the U.S. Here’s a quick breakdown of each:

🟡 TROPICAL WAVE #1: This system has a small window to become a tropical depression before it moves over cooler water later this week. Either way, it’s moving away from the U.S. and is no concern to us.

🟡 TROPICAL WAVE #2: This wave is moving quickly west and continues to battle dry air and high wind shear. Even if it beats the odds and manages to become a depression over the next few days, its fate looks pretty much sealed. Extremely high wind shear awaits it in the Caribbean Sea, making additional development very unlikely.

🟠 TROPICAL WAVE #3: This is the one with the best chance of developing. It’s currently in the far eastern Atlantic and has a 60% chance of becoming a tropical depression or storm, but any development should be slow. Over the next several days, it will occasionally encounter higher wind shear and dry air, which could make development difficult.

If it survives and eventually approaches the Lesser Antilles this weekend, a gap between two areas of high pressure over the Atlantic should give it an opportunity to turn north well before it gets anywhere close to the U.S.

As usual, I’ll keep a close eye on everything out there, but for now, I really like the odds of no tropical systems getting close to us for at least the next 10 days!
