Kinda chic to be the oldest locksmith company in Naples and still the cleanest shop in town! We won't point fingers, but you've probably been in a locksmith shop or two that felt like a time capsule. That's just never really been our thing.

This summer, we’ve been busy helping schools across Collier County strengthen their security—one door at a time. 🔐🏫

From high-security locks and reinforced door hardware to access control systems that give staff better control over who can enter, every upgrade has the same goal: helping create safer schools for our students and teachers.

School security is an area especially close to Key Breeze owner Andrew Blitch. Before Key Breeze, Andrew served as Director of Security for a private K–12 school in Houston, where he managed a $1 million annual security program and led a team of more than 30 law enforcement officers and security professionals. He oversaw access control, cameras, physical security infrastructure, emergency planning, and the day-to-day safety of an entire school community.

His expertise later took him beyond that campus, helping schools across Texas strengthen safety plans and reduce campus violence.

Today, he brings that experience home to Naples.

🔐 A good safe is about a lot more than the lock.

When we help someone choose a safe in our Naples showroom, we look at the entire construction of the safe, because a great lock doesn’t mean much if the door itself can be easily attacked.

One feature we like on Liberty Safes is their Solid State™ locking bars. Instead of traditional round locking bolts, these solid steel bars have a much larger surface area securing the door to the safe body. That extra coverage helps the door stand up to pry attacks, which is one of the most common ways someone may try to force a safe open.

They’re also made from a solid piece of steel rather than relying on multiple riveted components that can create additional weak points.

It’s a good example of why we tell customers not to shop for a safe based on the lock alone. Real security comes from layers: the lock, door construction, locking mechanism, body, fire protection, installation and more.

It may not be glamorous, but a door that opens smoothly and locks securely is a beautiful thing! 😄 We've been busy taking care of commercial locks all around southwest Florida this week.

A school needed secure locks, a restaurant door had clearly survived one too many lunch rushes, a boat club needed hardware that could handle the salt air, and several retail and condo properties needed fresh keys and dependable access, even in a locked attic!

Commercial doors work hard. They handle employees, customers, deliveries, weather and hundreds of openings every day, so even good hardware eventually needs attention.

Our locksmiths spent the week rekeying, repairing and adjusting doors across Naples and Bonita Springs so the right people can get in, the wrong people stay out, and nobody has to wrestle with the handle.
