Every great tile floor starts with the right preparation.

In Part 2 of this project in Marco Island, we’re installing an uncoupling membrane to help protect the floor from moisture while allowing for natural movement over time. We’re also creating a herringbone layout sample so the homeowner can see the pattern before installation begins, ensuring every detail is exactly how they envisioned it.

Taking the time to do it right before the first tile is laid is what leads to a beautiful, long lasting finished product.

Built the right way from the start.

When it comes to custom bookshelves, the details make all the difference. Using 1x12 boards, accounting for walls that aren’t perfectly straight, and finishing everything with crown molding and baseboards creates a clean, seamless look. We’re also planning ahead by hiding all of the wiring for the built in lighting.

Every great floor starts with a solid foundation.

Today is Phase 1 of this floor tile installation in Marco Island. After scraping, vacuuming, and mopping the existing surface, we’re repairing pitting and stress fractures in the concrete to create the right base for what’s next. Tomorrow, we’ll apply self-leveler to ensure the floor is flat, stable, and ready for tile.

Taking the time to do the prep work the right way is what helps create a beautiful, long-lasting finished floor.
