Collier County Public Utilities temporarily modified its water disinfection process using free chlorine as its disinfectant instead of chloramines, which is the standard disinfectant used throughout the year. Collier County Water will flush water mains and fire hydrants from Aug. 2 to Sept. 18.
Flushing will take place seven days a week, around the clock.
