Empecé usando un 2x4 y flotando mis piesos de concreto hasta la parte superior del 2x4... pero el problema con ese método es que el 2x4 se expandiría a diferentes temperaturas de que los piesos de concreto. El pieso se agrietaría donde se encontrarían el 2x4 y el pieso de concreto ¡así que lo rasqué!

Luego comencé a usar el 2x4 como una forma, y ​​quitaba la forma una vez que el concreto ha curado. Luego el pieso se rompió en la repisa, y si ponían un vidrio con marco… perforando la membrana tópica, se goteria.

Quería ese mirada de plataforma con un pieso de concreto, y estaba decidido hacer uno que dura un tiempo largo. ¡Finalmente diseñé LinerLedge!

Hey tile guys/gals… this is so much faster and easier to install and tile!

It also looks so much better, creating a more modern semi-curbless platform look, that’s more affordable than a zero curb.

If you do mud pans you will definitely want to try this new product!

I’m just a little ole tile installer that likes and trust mud pans - they are “tried and true!”

I wanted to get rid of the raised curb, because its been troublesome over the years, and it looks bulky and dated to me. It also takes so much extra time to tile, I’m sure you hate tiling them too!

I started out using a 2x4 and floating my mud pans to the top of the 2x4… but the problem with that method, is that the 2x4 would expand at different temperatures than the mud pan. The floor would crack where the 2x4 and the mud pan would meet… so I scratched that!

Then I started just using the 2x4 as a form, and would remove the form once the mud cured. Later the floor would crack at the ledge, and if they installed a glass with a frame… drilling through the topical membrane, it would leak.

I wanted that platform look with a mud pan, and was determined to figure out how to make it last long term. I finally designed LinerLedge!

LinerLedge is a multi-purpose 1/8” thick aluminum profile that is 60” long, which is the length of most tubs. It’s used with pan liners or a topical membrane like Kerdi.

It has a waterproofing ledge for the pan liner, with enough room for the pre-slope.

It can also be used with a topical membrane, and used as a leave in form that makes a perfect straight edge. It strengthens the ledge against cracking for a lifetime of use.

I was always told and taught that if you have something good - share it with others. That’s exactly what I’m doing, no big company here… just a tradesman with a dream, and a desire to make a product that makes others lives easier!
