If the January ice storm hit your roof, Nashville is quietly covering your permit fee, and most homeowners have no idea.

Metro's Restore Nashville program waives the permit fee on storm-damage repairs, which saves you around a hundred and eighty dollars while still keeping the inspection on record.

The catch is the deadline, because you have to pull the permit by August 31, 2026, or the waiver is gone.

Most people think commercial roofs are flat. They aren’t.

Cover board is down and we’re getting ready for membrane installation.

A lot of people only notice the finished roof, but this layer plays a big role in the performance of the entire system. It provides a solid surface for the membrane, helps protect the insulation below, and adds durability to the roof assembly.

Next up is the membrane, where this roof really starts becoming watertight.

We started water testing.

Most roof leaks aren’t obvious. Water can travel a long way before it ever shows up inside the building. In this case we started introducing water into different areas of the roof and ended up finding a disconnected plumbing vent pipe that was allowing water into the building.

Not where anyone expected it to be.
