This ceiling at our project in Belle Meade already had the right idea.

The paneling was painted on, flat drywall dressed up to look dimensional from a distance. We used flexible molding to build it out for real, giving the ceiling actual depth and shadow instead of an illusion of it.

Same idea, just taken all the way.

Every home starts as a dream, long before it’s a set of plans anyone can hold. It lives in conversations about how a family wants to gather, how the light should fall in the morning, what a house should feel like once it’s finally theirs.

Then, somewhere in the middle of construction, that dream stops being an idea and starts being a real place you can walk through.

Watching a family step into the home they imagined, built exactly as planned, is what makes this work worth it every single time.

Sometimes the biggest improvement to a home is not adding more square footage. It is making the existing space work better.

For this renovation, the primary suite originally had 8-foot ceilings that made the room feel much more closed in. By vaulting the ceiling, we were able to completely change the way the space feels and give the room more volume, light, and breathing room.

We also renovated the primary bathroom and added custom cabinetry and shelving throughout the closets to make the suite more functional for everyday living.

That is what we love about renovation work.

It gives us the opportunity to look at how a home is currently being used, identify what is holding it back, and make thoughtful changes that improve the way it feels and functions.

Not every project needs to start from scratch. Sometimes the right renovation can make an existing home feel entirely new.

Historic homes in Nashville are different from new construction, and it shows in the details. Original hardwood floors, plaster walls, detailed moldings, millwork original to the home. These are the details that give a home its character.

We know how to work with all of it. Working room by room inside Nashville’s established neighborhoods, we protect the original details that make these homes what they are, and build everything new around them to match.

Nashville has never been short on architectural character.

Drive through neighborhoods like Belle Meade, Forest Hills, 12 South, or many of the older communities throughout Middle Tennessee and you will find homes with proportion, detail, materiality, and a sense of permanence that is difficult to replicate.

They were not designed around what would photograph well for a few years. They were built to belong.

Somewhere along the way, parts of the building industry started prioritizing speed, square footage, and profitability over thoughtful architecture.

Homes became easier to reproduce, trends became easier to sell, and much of the character that made Nashville residential architecture so special began to disappear.

We want to take a different approach.

We believe a timeless home starts with restraint and intention. It means studying the architecture that came before us, understanding why certain proportions and materials have endured, and making decisions based on what will still feel right decades from now.

That philosophy influences everything from the overall architecture and floor plan to the materials, millwork, finishes, and smallest construction details.

We are not interested in building something simply because it is popular right now.

We want to build homes that feel connected to their surroundings, respect the architectural character of Middle Tennessee, and become better with age.
