Tricky crane picks today with a large white pine. It was a lying on a beam that was preventing it from falling on top of a new fire truck. The tree has been safely removed and even Spider-Man made an appearance at the end!

🌪️ We have dangerous storms and the potential for strong tornadoes heading our way shortly so let’s talk about storm damage for a bit!

If a tree lands on your home…

🏡 1) Get out of the house and go to a safe location. We have had trees settle further and sections of homes crash on top of our crew trying to remove a tree from inside a home. The unexpected can and will happen and you can be seriously injured.

📸 2) Take pictures if you’re able. Call your insurance company or agent! Leave a message. Then call again at opening hours if you haven’t heard back yet.

🧐 3) While you’re waiting, go ahead and search for a trusted, reputable, reliable, and experienced company you would like to remove the storm damage threat from your property. That’s right, I said a company YOU would like to do the job. Homeowners have rights, and as policyholder, you have the right to choose the contractor you want to repair or replace your damaged property. It’s important to keep in mind your insurance company may suggest contractors they frequently work with (including us!) but understand they are just that – suggestions. You are not obligated to use them.

Find a company that is experienced in storm damage removal with excellent reviews and recommendations from locals who will save you and your insurance company money in the end by preserving the remainder of your property.

⚠️ Don’t try to remove, trim, or tarp yourself! If you want coverage you pay for, leave it alone. If you want to avoid self harm, leave it alone. Watch out for downed power lines. When it’s dark outside, it’s hard to see all the dangers. Leave the tarping to the restoration or roofing company as they help assess damage for the adjuster.

⛈️ Call the storm damage company (either tree or restoration) you chose to come out and work with your insurance company/agent and claims adjuster to provide you fast, safe, and professional service.

🏗️ About our team: We have a grapple saw crane truck, a 24/7 crew ready to go at any time of night, 9 years of experience with proper storm damage removal, Certified Arborist and Tree Risk Assessment Qualified Arborist on site, and we are insured WITH WORKERS COMP. That’s a huge one. We only quote and invoice the insurance company based off competitive industry pricing and never want you to pay us out of your own pocket.

💚 There are some amazing local agents and companies we have personally worked with over the past few years. Reach out if you need recommendations!

⚡️ Stay safe! Please have plans in place now! Find your nearest shelter and please do not stay in a mobile home. Simply put- aside from a tornado….falling trees can kill you even if you’re in your home or vehicle. Stay weather aware with a radio.

The whole crew traveled to Franklin, Brentwood, and Nashville this week to help with tree removal. We were able to complete nine jobs, some with the help of our friends at Stump Eater Tree Service. There are so many still without power. The entire area will suffer for years trying to recover from tree damage. Sadly, tons of trees that just needed corrected cuts from breakouts on properties were removed entirely. Others absolutely had to be removed due to extensive damage. We’re super grateful for our crane but even more so for our team. I could not ask for a better group of guys to take charge and go go go. It was cold, slick, and dangerous and they just went wherever they were needed. We’re thinking of those who are still there working in awful conditions and especially those who are stuck inside with nowhere else to go and no way to get there. 💚

🚨 Hey Lincoln County! Forecasts now indicate we could see up to ½ inch of ice this weekend.

What does that mean for trees? Let’s talk about it.

🧊 While much of the focus during an ice storm is on road conditions and power outages, trees are taking a major hit too — especially with ice AND wind.

🪾 At ½ inch of ice, tree branches and entire canopies become rigid and heavily overloaded, causing limbs to bend, crack, and fail — especially at weak unions and codominant stems. Trees with decay or poor structure are at extremely high risk, but even healthy trees can fail under this amount of load. ½ inch of ice can add hundreds to thousands of pounds across a mature tree canopy, and when combined with wind, that added weight creates a powerful lever effect that snaps limbs and can uproot trees.

💨 Wind increases stress on ice-loaded trees, causing sudden failures that send large limbs into homes, roads, and power lines. Power outages are likely, most often caused by trees falling onto lines.

🌳 Many tree failures occur during the thaw, not necessarily during the storm itself.

🧊 After the ice melts, it’s critical that broken limbs are properly pruned back. Leaving breakouts alone can lead to poor wound closure, decay, pests, and long-term structural failure. Correct pruning cuts help trees heal and reduce future hazards.

⚠️ If a tree uproots, cracks, or falls onto power lines, stay away and contact your power company. If property damage occurs, notify your insurance provider and document the damage once it’s safe. Give us a call, we’re here to help!
