Bobby John lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and service to others. He built more than a successful company, he built relationships and a culture where people mattered. His kindness, leadership, and genuine care for others touched countless lives and left a legacy that will continue for generations.
A life well lived. A man that will be well remembered.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our founder, Mr. Bobby John, Sr. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on June 12, 2026, at the age of 89.
Mr. Bobby poured his heart into J&J Exterminating from the very beginning. In 1959, with his brother Harry, he started the company in Crowley with nothing more than determination, a truck, the necessary equipment, and a landline in his mother’s outdoor “breeze house”. He built it one customer at a time through hard work, integrity, and strong character.
To him, this was never just a business—it was a calling. He taught us to treat every customer with the same respect that you would show your own grandparents, and he prayed daily for good people to join our family. He never saw jobs as numbers. He saw the families behind them gathered around the dinner table—the children with their feet dangling from their chairs, and the futures those opportunities helped create. The company, its employees, and the communities we serve meant the world to him.
Mr. Bobby’s legacy lives on in every home we protect and every team member who carries forward his values. We are forever grateful for his leadership, faith, and example.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. All who knew and loved Mr. Bobby are warmly invited to attend and celebrate his remarkable life.
