In October Dacon welcomed 5 students from the CAD Drafting & Design Program at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School in Fitchburg, MA to learn about architecture and design-build.

The half-day program included an office tour to meet with each department, design-build Jeopardy and sketching ideas for our IIDA NE Fashion show entry. The group was very engaging and they gave us a lot of great inspiration for our fashion show design!

Supporting students in their endeavors into the design and construction world is a passion at Dacon, being a multi-faceted office gave the students opportunities to explore all aspects of the field. Thank you to all the students who participated and we hope to do it again next year!

For the second year now Dacon Corporation has participated in J+J Flooring’s Helping Hands program. The Goal: to brighten the lives of children and their families who are having to spend their holiday in a pediatric hospital.

After a wonderful party at Gillette to drop off and admire the trees, the J+J team deliver the trees to the hospital to bring hope and excitement to the children. The redesign of this this historically significant building resulted in increased occupancy, higher rental rates and 4 renewed leases while returning $180,000 to the client. We celebrated ABI-LAB 3's opening with two special guests - a visit from Yvonne Hao at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED) who spoke on the Mass Leads Act and MassBay Community College's rising star Cam Duso, who presented research on spinal muscular atrophy. Bio incubators play a distinct role in the state's life science sector by supporting exploration, experimentation, and rapid learnings.
