Hello Gardening Friends. Is your yard getting those unwelcomed thorny vines everywhere? How about the privet sprouts all over your yard? Well you are not alone. This is a common issue because privet species are often invasive and spread aggressively. In this particular project, we were able to cut the majority of them back. We also removed vines from the fence, making the yard look nice and manicured. Hello Gardening Friends! Look what I found by my 4 o'clock plant, a bone!!!!!😬. Just kidding, it's just a piece of this plants dried stalk which resembles the look of dark gray bones with swollen joints at the stem nodes. Isn't that spooky? The Mirabilis Jarapa also has medicinal uses, particularly the roots and stems. The plants flower is also used for food coloring. This kind of Mirabilis is the most commonly grown as an ornamental species and it's available in a range of colors. She is referred to as a 4 o'clock due to her flowers opening late in the afternoon and wither the following morning. They are found in USDA hardiness zones 7-11 and they are typically grown as tender perennials in these zones, meaning they will survive the winter and return year after year, so plant away gardeners😊. Mirabilis means wonderful in Latin and Jalapa is the state capital of Veracuz, Mexico. All of the different variations in colors that she offers are just beautiful 😍. Happy Gardening! 🏵🌸🌺

Hello Gardening Friends! Have you ever seen a Twice-stabbed Lady Beetle? It has 2 red spots on its wing covers and a solid black body. Even though they are not rare, it seems that we will encounter a similar to this one with different color pattern variation, a common lady bug, a Cocinella septempunctata, the seven-spot ladybird, which is a carnivorous beetle native to Europe, Africa and Eastern Asia. The type of beetle in my video are just as beneficial since they will feed on aphids and other pests, making it an important species in both natural and commercial forests. These type of beetles are native to North America and Canada. Aren't they just beautiful? It was my first time encountering one. Happy Gardening! 🐞🐞🐞
