WHY CAN TWO HVAC QUOTES BE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS APART?

Just to be clear — this is NOT a shot at another local HVAC company.
I know the people behind that company, and they’re great people. Their pricing can absolutely be fair.
Slateco may come in higher because our quote may include different equipment, code upgrades, permits, sheet metal, warranties, testing, and other job-specific work.
$4,500 can be a fair install. $7,000+ can also be a fair install.
The important thing is comparing what’s actually included — not just the final number.

"Please don't tell me I need a whole new air conditioner..."
Those were the first words a homeowner said to me when I knocked on her door.
She looked nervous.
She said, "I don't know anything about air conditioners, and I can't afford thousands of dollars right now."
Honestly, that stuck with me.
