In preparation for the upcoming winter storm, consider the following tips: For faucets located in or near exterior walls, allow both hot and cold water to drip slightly. Additionally, open the cabinet doors beneath these faucets to facilitate warm air circulation. Also, remove all garden hoses from outdoor faucets. As these pipes are most vulnerable to freezing, consider insulating them with foam or towels for the season. In cases of extreme cold, consider allowing faucets to drip slowly to maintain water flow. Opening your cabinets to expose the pipes to warmth is also advantageous. Additionally, be aware of the location of your home's main water valve, as this knowledge will be crucial in the event of a major incident, such as a pipe bursting, requiring immediate shutdown of the home's water supply.
