We have had the best experience with Native Character Hardwoods. We were going for a modern farmhouse look on our remodel. After messaging about the white oak flooring, Tashina quickly answered all of our questions, and helped us make our decision. The transaction was easy, they delivered straight to our door, and the driver even helped unload all the wood. I would recommend if you have the hardwood delivered to your house, make sure to put 2x4’s down first and lay the first pallet across them before stacking. Concrete in our garage had moisture and the wood does not need any moisture on it. They delivered for an unbelievable price. Excellent service!

The installers started putting it down and quickly noticed how our #3 grade white oak was very high quality. The wood had some knot holes but they were small and added the perfect amount of character we were looking for. The wood was in such excellent condition it made their job to install it go fast! Very little went to waste! The whole 2,700 sqft. house took about 1 week to install. Then for the finishing. First, Sanding the floors until they were all smooth and uniform. Then our finishers used a white oak filler to fill all edges or gaps. We had a continuous run with no transition so expansion joints were put in every room. These were all perfect when the filler and sanding was complete. We left our knot holes and did not put filler in them. This gave the floor the perfect character look we wanted. Once the filler was put in, they buffed every inch and cleaned every speck of dust off the floor. Then the first coat of water based poly. We chose a satin finish because we did not want the glossy wet look. After drying overnight, they buffed all the floors again, and applied the second coat. After we have the cabinets installed, we will have them apply the third coat of poly! This has been the best decision in flooring choices we could have ever made!
