Mini Excavator Operator – J&L Underground Construction

“Get in, we’ve got dirt to move.”

J&L Underground Construction is looking for a dependable Mini Excavator Operator (18+) who’s ready to work.

We’re not looking for someone perfect — just someone who:
• Shows up on time
• Isn’t afraid to get dirty
• Can take direction and work hard
• Has a good attitude and stays off their phone

Job Duties:
• Operate mini excavator for utility work (trenches, digging, grading)
• Assist with ground work when needed
• Work around underground utilities safely
• Help keep job sites clean and organized

What We’re Looking For:
• 18 years or older
• Some equipment experience is a plus (we can train the right guy)
• Must be reliable — this is not a “show up when you want” job
• Ability to work outdoors in all conditions

Pay:
• Based on experience
• Opportunity to grow with the company

Location: Southwest Missouri (Joplin / Neosho area)

If you’re a hard worker and want to learn a solid trade, we’ll teach you.

We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals for labor positions. If you enjoy working outdoors and are ready to tackle hands-on tasks, we want to hear from you!

**Position: Laborer**

**Responsibilities:**
- Hand digging and trenching
- Operating equipment for various construction tasks
- Installing fiber optic service drops to homes
- Assisting with other underground utility installations

**Requirements:**
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Previous experience in construction or related fields is a plus, but not required
- Must be able to lift heavy materials and perform physical labor

**Compensation:**
- Starting pay at $18.00 per hour

Requirements:
* Planning: Reading and interpreting project plans, drawings, specifications, and blueprints ��
* Scheduling: Creating and managing schedules for the crew and monitoring attendance ��
* Safety: Ensuring safety on the construction site, including making sure workers wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) ��
* Communication: Relaying messages from upper management, giving instructions, communicating changes, and providing performance feedback ��
* Problem-solving: Quickly assessing problems, thinking critically, and implementing solutions ��
* Equipment management: Managing and maintaining construction equipment ��
* Delegation: Delegating responsibilities and tasks to crew members, contractors, and other workers ��
