Congratulations to Malco Tools Head of The Class award winners for 2022 school year. HVAC 1 winner Chace Whiteman, Lanesville High School and HVAC2 winner Ryan Lucas, SilverCreek High School. Each of them got a cool backpack tool bag and certificate. While all class students received a Malco Tools hat and C-RHEX hex driver. Thanks to Malco tools for providing this program for students training for their trade career.

Last week students in the Prosser Heating Cooling & Refrigeration Program completed training on new HydroCarbon based refrigerants now being used in the refrigeration industry. These H.C. refrigerants are entering the market to provide a refrigerant that is better for the environment. The students were able to make repair to a leaking system, evacuate and dehydrate the system and weigh in the correct system charge of R-600a isobutane refrigerant. This training was made possible through a grant received from the New Albany Floyd County Education Foundation. The Foundation grant provided the need tools and refrigerant for the training as we did not have them previously.

HVAC Lab is in full reconstruction mode. Will be done hopefully by the end of spring break. Trench drains, gas lines, and new electrical power.

Excited!!!!! to be starting another school year. Looking forward to a great year. Hard to believe it is the start of my 21st year at Prosser Career Education Center. I have my very first student enrolled who is the son of a former student. Guess that is a sign that I'm getting old.
