It’s not every day you get the opportunity to excavate and suspend a nearly 100-year-old, 72-inch water main. On Louisville Water Company’s Crescent Hill Water Treatment Plant Secondary Pump Station project, MAC is constructing the new Junction Structure that will connect the new pump station to the existing plant infrastructure.
The 72-inch influent pipeline linking the old and new systems, segment one installed via tunneling, has now been completed. Next up is the final influent pipe section: a 30-foot-deep open-cut excavation, including approximately 20 feet of solid rock, to tie the systems together and bring this critical infrastructure improvement one step closer to completion.
Complex work, careful planning, and exceptional ex*****on by the entire project team.
